River’s Bend Children’s Center was designed to provide for the social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth and development of each child. Our programs will challenge your child with a variety of stimulating experiences, social interactions and individual and group activities led by the skillful guidance of trained teachers.
Our owner, Clark Andrs, has been operating State Licensed child care programs for over 30 years. He grew up in Enon and graduated from Thomas Dale High School. He attended Virginia Tech and received a B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education. Clark is Vice President of the Virginia Child Care Association. He also received an appointment in 2012 by the Governor of Virginia to serve on the Child Care Council which assisted in the writing of Virginia State Licensing Child Care Regulations.
Clark’s wife, Amanda, joined River’s Bend Children’s Center in January of 2015. She worked for Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists for 9 years prior; however, Amanda’s true calling was to work with children. Amanda grew up in Harrisonburg and attended James Madison University. She also took child development classes at Mary Baldwin College. Her desire was to seek employment as a teacher, but she also had a strong interest and skill set in managerial responsibilities. Amanda is a member of the Virginia Child Care Association. Amanda has been a tremendous addition to River’s Bend Children’s Center’s management team. She absolutely loves her job and can often be found in the classrooms bonding with the children!
The staff at River’s Bend Children’s Center believe that each child is a unique individual, and we are aware that every child learns differently. With this in mind, our age-appropriate programs offer many ways of learning geared toward each individual child.
